Gansu People and Religion


Located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, northwest China, Gansu is one of the cradles of Chinese culture. It occupies a total area of 453,700 square kilometers and 14 cities. With a population of 25.53 million (by 2012), Gansu has a multinational population which includes ethnic minority groups of Kazak, Mongolian, Tibetan, Hui, Dongxiang, Tum, Manchu,Yugur and Baoan.
