Wenfeng Tower is located in the eastern part of Jingzhou County. It was built in the Qing Jiaqing period (AD 1799). The tower is divided into seven floors and the height is 20 meters. There is a Tongtao gold pillar on the top of the tower. It is said to be able to avoid lightning in the town.
The first layer of the tower is surrounded by a "100-year-old Yuanfang". A total of 28 bluestone monuments are displayed. The inner layer of the tower is the Confucius Temple, which enshrines the statue of Dacheng to Shengshi’s Confucius. The second `three-tier showcases 7 scholars and 73 people from Jingzhou, and is engraved into a list of monuments in black marble. The four `five-six-story hangs the list of professors of the Jingzhou-based doctors after the founding of New China. The seventh floor is the highest level.
The name "Academician Building" hopes that in the future, Jingzhou will be able to appear as an "academician" in both houses of China.
