Sidonggou Scenic Spot
Sidonggou Valley, also Sidonggou Scenic Spot, is one of the most beautiful scenic spots which is about 17km away from downtown Chishui City,northwest of Guizhou Province. Sidonggou Scenic Spot looks like a fantasyland which boasts a succession of cataracts. The four large ones offer different ways of splashing, some passionate, some haunting.
What to see?
Sidonggou translates as 'valley with four openings' and its main claim to fame is its waterfalls and stark surroundings. There are gigantic ferns here, along with dense bamboo groves and many rapids.The spinulose tree ferns in the Chishui Sidonggou Valley have huge leaves measuring as much as eight meters in length. A hiking trail leads right through the valley.

The four waterfalls,such as Water Curtain Cave Waterfall, Moon Pool Waterfall,Flying Frog Waterfall and White Dragon Waterfall, are located in the Sidonggou Valley which is about four kilometers. visitors can get sight-seeing by hiking or shuttle bus.
On the way to the Sidonggou waterfalls you can find Datong, a narrow street with pebble stones and old women sitting by their doors, reading old books or playing mahjong. The only telltale sign of modernity is the TV behind every open door, which is always on. Entering the Sidonggou Scenic Spot, tourisits can also enjoy Zheng Family Archway, Cai Lun Paper-making site, and some Danxia Landmarks such as Shiding Mountain, Duxian Bridge..
Alsophila Spinulosa, known as the "king of ferns" in Latin, is the world's only known woody fern, making it a national treasure. Sidonggou Nature Reserve in Chishui, Guizhou province is the only national-level nature reserve in the world that preserves them.
