Zenglei
Shui Ethnic Village is located in Dujiang Town of Sandu County, Qiandongnan Prefecture of Guizhou Province. The Village is the only
Shui ethnic minority cultural protection village in the province. There are two ethnic groups, namely Shui Minority and
Miao Minority, but the Shui people accounts for 65%, the
Miao nationality accounts for 35%. Zenlei Shui Ethnic Village has about 120 households and more than 800 people. Most of them are surnamed Wei.
Because it is located in the rolling hills and the traffic is closed, the village has preserved the cultural characteristics of the Shui Ethnic Minority. Especially, the residential buildings are more prominent. There are still eight houses named “Gan Lan” with over hundred years history, which are very similar to the Han Dynasty pottery houses unearthed in
Guizhou. They are a rare witness to the study of the wooden structure of ethnic minorities in southern China. No tickets, accommodation in general, and inconvenient transportation.
