Xiangxi Transportation
Xiangxi Transportation has been improved since 1950. Nowadays highways and railways are also built in Xiangxi Prefecture so that lots of tourist can be attracted to have a great Xiangxi Tour. But in ancient times, it was the mountainous area to make the traffic conditions very difficult to improve over the years in Chinese history.
Xiangxi Liye Airport is building at the junctions of Jishou,Huayuan,and Baojing in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture of Hunan Province. After operating, flights to and from major cities in China will be launched.
Jishou City is the capital of Xiangxi Prefecture, It's about 145 km away from Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport. Fenghuang Anicent Town is 115 km from Huaihua Zhijiang Airport, and only 45km to Tongren Fenghuang Airport in eastern Guizhou Province. Visitor can reach Xiangxi by bus or train after they get to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, Tongren Fenghuang Airport or Huaihua Zhijiang Airport

Zhangjiajie Hehua International Airport is located in Hehua Village of Yongding District,Zhangjiajie City. It is 145 km to Jishou City,Xiangxi Prefecture.

By Train
Built in 1970 s, Zhijiang-Liuzhou Railway passes through Yongshun County,Guzhang County, Jishou City in Xiangxi Prefecture.
Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde High-speed Railway operated in 2019. It starts from Qianjiang in Chongqing City to run through Longshan County in north of Xiang Prefecture.
Zhangjihuai High-speed Railway is builing with 246 kilometers in length, which will operate in 2021. The whole line will include 7 stations in Zhangjiajie West Railway Station, Furong Town in Yongshun County, Guzhang County, Jishou City, Fenghuang County, Mayang County, and Huaihua South Station. The design speed is 350 kilometers per hour.
Jishou Railway Station is the most lagest and important railway station in this area. Mengdonghe Railway Station is nearby Furong Ancient Town. Tourists can take trains to Jishou City from Zhangjiajie, Huaihua, Changsha in Hunan Province. Especially, if you arrive in China, you can also take direct trains from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Kunming, Shenzhen and Nanning. However, it is not difficult to get to Xiangxi Prefecture if you want to visit Xiangxi by train.
By Bus
To develop Great Xiangxi (Western Hunan) into an international tourist destination, Hunan Province had introduced strategic policies to boost the area’s tourism while greatly improving its transportation network. Nowadays, Hangzhou-Ruili Highway, Baotou-Maoming Highway have been built to pass through Xiangxi Prefecture.
Zhangjiajie-Huayuan Highway was opened in 2014. So it is very easily to take bus from Zhangjiajie, Changsha, Huaihua, Tongren to the area of Xiangxi. And tour roads between Jishou and Dehang Miao Village, Jishou and Furong Ancient Town as well as Mengdong River are built very well. Because of improving the highway transportation network, Xiangxi has been become an amazing tourism destinations of Hunan Province after Zhangjiajie.
Jishou Qianzhou Bus Station

It operates bus from Jishou to Longshan,Huayuan,Fenghuang,Baojing,Yongshun,Luxi and other cities such as Guiyang,Chongqing,Tongren.The bus station was operated in 2013. It was the biggest passengers station in Xiangxi Prefecture.
Fenghuang North Bus Station
Fenghuang North Bus Station is the biggest bus station which is located in the north part of Fenghuang Ancient Town. The bus station operates long-distance bus between Fenghuang and other cities in China.
