By Train
There is no direct train to transfer you from Zhangjiajie to Phoenix County. If you prefer a cheap way from Zhangjiajie to Phoenix County, train is a better choice. There are 15 trains from Zhangjiajie to Jishou every day, so you don’t have to worry that you may miss the train. Zhangjiajie railway station is located in Yongding District, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province. It is one-hour drive to the Zhangjiajie Wulingyuan Scenic Area.

By Bus or Coach
You can also go to Phoenix County from Zhangjiajie by bus. The bus is the most convenient way to go to Phoenix County from Zhangjiajie, but it is more expensive compared to take the train. The ticket can be purchased at Zhuangjiajie Bus Station and Wulingyuan Bus Station. As there are only two buses going to Phoenix Ancient City, you’d better buy the ticket one day in advance. It is about 4 to 5 hrs from Zhangjiajie to Phoenix by bus. The fare is about 80 yuan.
From Zhangjiajie to Phoenix Ancient City, you can buy ticket at Zhangjiajie Center Bus Station. The buses depart twice a day, respectively at 08:00 and at 14:30, driving for about 4 to 5 hrs. The bus goes through Furong Village and Jishou City, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery on the bus.
You can also buy the ticket at Wulingyuan Bus Station, which is quiet near to Wulingyuan Scenic Spot. There are only two buses from Wulingyuan Bus Station to Phoenix. The two buses depart respectively at 08:00 and at 14:30, driving for about 4 to 5 hrs.
If you have a car or you want to rent a car, you can drive from Zhangjiajie to Phoenix Ancient Town. You may start from the downtown of Zhangjiajie, passing by Furong Village, Baizhang County, Jishou City, Jixin County and finally to the destination. The whole joinery is about 282.km and takes about 4 or  hours.
If you rent a coach for private tour, you can aslo ask driver to go on the Zhangjiajie-Huayuan Expressway which was opened in 2012. And it will take you about 4 or 5 hours from Zhangjiajie City to Fenghuang town.
