No.1: Yellow Dragon Cave
As one of the top ten attractions in Zhangjiajie, the Yellow Dragon Cave or Huanglong Cave, also known as 黄龙洞 (huánglóng dòng)in Chinese,is located in Hekou Village, Suoxiyu Town, Wulingyuan District, Zhangjiajie City. As a 4-A national scenic area, Yellow Dragon Cave is famous for its typical karst landform. It is one of Zhangjiajie tourism boutique lines,which enjoys a reputation of peerless wonders.
Yellow Dragon Cave has a total area of 100,000 square meters, a total length of 7,640 meters with a maximum vertical height of 140 meters. The cave has four floors containing a reservoir, two underground rivers, three underground waterfalls, four pools, thirteen halls and ninety-six entryways to the inside.
No.2: Jiutian Cave
As one of the major attractions in Maoyan River Scenic Area, Jiutian Cave is located in Lifuta Township of Sangzhi County, 72 km west of Zhangjiajie City. It is currently the largest cave found in China, three times larger than Lichuan Cave, which is said to be the largest cave in the world.
Jiutian Cave is discovered by Warrior Wang Hai, a mountain cave explorers, in 1987. In 1988 it is was officially open to visitors and listed as provincial scenic area. In the same year, after investigation and evaluation of international cave experts, they agreed that Jiutian large has unique landscape and there are a number of caves that were not developed.
No.3: Dragon King Cave
Dragon King Cave is situated in Gaofeng Township,Zhangjiajie City's Cili County.It is 62 km away from Zhangjiajie Downtown,and 30km away from Wulingyuan Scenic Area.Dragon King Cave was appraised as the national AAAA scenic area in 2007. Because of some legends, Dragon King Cave is also praised as "the Gate of the earth" by most experts in karst caves.With a total length of 30km,Dragon King Cave boasts 28 pathes with its width of 80 meters and height of 40 meters.There are 58 halls,3 underground rivers, 2 lakes,as well as 5 waterfalls in the cave.It is a superb collection of beautiful scenery,such as Stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, and stone flowers
