Tianmen Mountain Cable Car
Tianmen Mountain literally means the Heaven Gate Mountain. It is named so after the Tianmen Cave in the scenic area, which looks like a door leading to the heaven hanging in the air, shrouded by mist throughout the year. Walk along the Heaven-linking Avenue, and you will reach the Tianmen Cave. The Tianmen Mountain Temple, Glass Skywalk, and Guigu Plank Road are also some of the best highlights in the mountain.
Travel in Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park, you will have an experience by special traffic tools such as the cable cars,shuttle bus, escalator inside the park.
Praised as one of the six wonders of Tianmen Mounatin National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain Cable Way, with a length of 7,455 meters, is the longest cable way in the world.
Starting in the City Garden in the downtown area, and ending on the top of the mountain, the cable way looks like a rainbow hanging on the sky, as well as a dragon riding through the clouds.
It has 98 cars and 57 brackets altogether (including 3 rescuing brackets), all of which are original imported facilities from POMA, the French corporation. The cable capacity is limited to 1,000 passengers per hour, and it will take you 28 minutes for a single trip. Try to avoid the high season, or you may wait in line for several hours.
The local gradient from the middle station to the upper station is as high as 37 degrees, which is rare in the world. It is the cableway with the largest local gradient as well as one with most brackets in China.

Transport: Take bus No. 4.101,102,,8,13,6 to the Tianmen Mt Cable car station. And it is only 10 minutes walking from Zhangjiajie Railway Station or Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station
