Water Rapping Around Four Doors
Water Rapping Around Four Doors, also called 水绕四门 (shuǐ rào sì mén) in Chinese, is a scenic spot which is located in the center of Wulingyuan Scenic Area,
Zhangjiajie City.
Located in the center of Wulingyuan, the place of "Water Rapping Around Four Doors" is the east gate of
Zhangjiajie Forest Park and the west gate of Suoxiyu Scenic Area. It is nearby the lower station of Bailong Elevator.
Here, four streams of the Golden Whips Stream, Kuangdong Stream, Longwei Stream and Suoxi Sream converge in this valley basin of less than 200 square meters. The surrounding peak rocks are wonderful with creeks flowing, bamboo trees growing, flowers and birds. Several mountains and rivers cut out four gates in the south,east, north and west, hence its name.
Do to the wild topography of this area, the rivers do not go straight, they twist, and rap around the mountains, in one area four of these corners are referred to as "doors", and because the water raps around them this area is called "Water Rapping Around Four Corners."
This place was also originally named or 天子洲(tiān zǐ zhōu)in Chinese, it is said that it was the ancient base camp where the King
Xiang Dakun sent troops to gather together.
The place of Water Rapping Around Four Doors is the end of the Golden Whip Stream for tourists to walk from the Oxygen Bar Square nearby the entrance gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Certainly, visitors can also start walking along the stream to the foot of Yellow Stone Village.

The Grave of Zhang Liang
On the platform under Boliu Crag in the Golden Whip Stream is the Grave of Zhang Liang, who was the Marquis and the military counselor during the Western
Han Dynasty (206 B.C- 25 A.D.).The legend goes that he lived as a hermit in Wulingyuan Scenic Spot after he had helped Liubang be the first emperor in the Western
Han Dynasty (206 B.C- 25 A.D.) and he was buried here as well. Now the Grave of Zhang Liang becomes one of the most important culture relics in the Golden Whip Stream.
