Chapanta Scenic Spot
Chapanta Scenic Spot, one of the three major scenic spots in Tianzi Mountain, which is located in the middle area of Tianzi Mountain, Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie City.
Lying between Shijiayan Scenic Spot and Laowuchang Scenic Zone, the Chapanta Scenic Spot is also located at the end of Ten-mile Natural Gallery. So, standing here, you can get a bird view of the Ten-mile Natural Gallery.
Chapanta (茶盘塔），is a plateau which surface shape looks lake a huge tea-plate used by the Tujia people, hence its name " Tea Plate Plateau" which is called 茶盘塔 (chá pán tǎ) in Chinese . Entering this sceniic spot,
you will feel a sense of fascination add more fun enjoying the wonderful scenery of Tianzi Mountain. The main attractions here list as below:
No.1: One Dangerous Step
Due to billions years of geological movement, here you can see two huge stone peaks were cut through by a a one-meter-wide and 15 meter-long gap. Looking down at the stone urn, you will see it is descend into the abyss. The timid person will not dare to go over. Hence its name " One Dangerous Step" Life and death are so close here. Do you dare to across it?
No.2: Bridge of Immortals
You need to stay in Dingxiang Rong downtown if you want to see the sunrise in The Grand Sightseeing Platform. The sun-rising time is different according to the seasons, basically speaking, 5 o'clock in the morning in summer and 7 o'clock in winter. Zhangjiajie Holiday has a good cooperation with a lot of hotels at Dingxiangrong Village in Tianzi Mountain ,all hotels are clean and economic.
No.3: Monkey Slope
At the end of the ten-mile gallery, There are jagged rocks of grotesque shapes, green and luxuriant forest, and small groups of hundreds of monkeys gathering here, so called “Monkey Slope”.
Located at the site of Chapanta Scenic Zone in Tianzi Mountain. It has 4 natural spectacles, such as the clouds of mist that circle the peaks of the mountain, the amazing views of the rising sun, the moonlit nights and snow-capped winter peaks , the Mid-Air Farmers’ Cottage. The Grand Sightseeing Platform is the only place where you can see the sunrise.Gazing into the distance,you will have a panoramic view of numerous peaks.
No.5: Tianzi Peak
At the southwest of Tea-tray Plateau Scenic Spot, Tianzi Peak (天子峰 tian
zi feng) , with a height of 1262 meters above sea level,is the highest peak of Tianzi Mountain. It looks like a great man sitting there, dressed in armor, holds an arrow in right hand, and scowls ahead, as if he was going to have a war.
No.6: Lover's Tryst
Located in the valley about 3 kilometers away from the Fairy Bridge, the two peaks, one tall and one short, stand opposite each other which exactly like a man and woman hiding in a secluded place in this deep mountain. Hence, these two peaks are called "Lover's Tryst" by local people. In the dense forest on the left, there is a piece of rock which is half exposed outside the forest, as if spying on the lover's secret. Its landscape is strange and interesting.
No.7: Tongue-like Rock
Tongue-like Rock is located at about 200 meters east of Chapanta Scenic Spot. Here you can see three natural viewing platforms protruding towards the West Sea Scenic Spot. The middle one is only 10 square meters wide and reaches 100 meters forward, and it looks like a long tongue protruding, hence its name.
No.8: Shuanghe Cave
It is about 500 meters from the One Dangerous Step. The cave is tall and spacious divided into two caves, which one is drought and another has water. The drought cave is lined with stone columns. Here you can see the top of the cave is smooth, with the words "the world is peaceful" （天下太平）faintly discernible. The water cave is deep and narrow, with beaches and ponds, feasible bamboo rafts, trickling water, and sounds. It is said that the two caves were originally unconnected. King Xiang and his lover once shared the two caves. After falling in love, they pushed down the middle stone wall and became one place on the day of their marriage, hence its name.
No.9: Cock Pecking
The attractions of "Cock Pecking" is located in Chapanta Scenic Spot. About 300 meters away from the Grand Viewing Platform, you can get to the observation platform. Standing here and looking at the opposite peaks, you will see the peak on the left looks like a cock pecking at the another peak on the right. The peaks are lush, and the roosters are pecking freely. Standing here, you can also have overlooking the valley in the middle of the forest, which is the famous Ten-mile Natural Gallery.

Opening Hours: 07:99-18:00
How to get there: Get off at the shuttle bus station of Daguantai, and then walk along the path about 1 hour to the place. Usually, tour groups will not go there because it is not easily going there.
