Mid-air Farmer's Cottage, also 空中田园（Kōng zhōng tián yuán）in Chinese, is located in Laowuchang  Scenic Spot, Tianzi Mountain,Wulingyuan Scenic Area,Zhangjiajie City.

Facing  Bailong Elevator an Yuanjiajie Scenic Spot in the west valley, connecting  to the Chapanta Scenic Spot in the east., the Mid-air Farmer's Cottage, nestled  in mountainous area, has a total area of 7 hectares.

This is field in air which rises 1000 meters above sea level. Beneath it is a chasm with protruding sheer cliffs, above which is a piece of terraced field covering 3 hectares.  Rice grows  in the terrace fields every year, which make it green in spring and yellow in late summer.

More than ten Tujia residents living on the hillside above the fields.  Some stilted houses, which the wall is made of brown wood and the roof is covered with black tiles, built  on the slope of the mountain.  Surrounded by green trees ,each family has a vegetable field growing various vegetables and fruits.

In the morning and evening, every household cooks, you can often hear the sound of cocks  and dogs crying. Sometimes, you can also hear the "Ding Dang" sounds reminded from  the bells hanging around the cow's neck while the cow is running.

This scene is like a paradise on earth. The field is on three sides surrounded by trees and white clouds, just like a splendid landscape painting.

This place is also a good place for shoot sun-rising. If you come here in the early morning, you can see the sunrise scenery. Even if without sunrise, the sea of clouds is also beautiful here. However, few tourists group  will visit there. Generally, after taking Bailong elevator to the top of the mountain in Yuanjiajie, they usually look up here, but it is another experience.
